The Fall of the Church of Scientology Prelude

“There was an iciness, a sinking, a sickening of the heart – an unredeemed dreariness of thought which no goading of the imagination could torture into aught of the sublime”
― Edgar Allan PoeThe Fall of the House of Usher and Other Tales

Many Scientologists who have since left the Church of Scientology are probably still asking themselves what went wrong? Still doing what would be considered a post mortem of the Organization.

Others feel they’ve found the answer by using the simplistic idiotic “logic” of Occam’s Razor and shun or eschew what they derogatorily call “conspiracy theory”.

They explain all the problems that the Church or what is left of it can be explained by the fact that David Miscavige the self proclaimed religious leader is not just a suppressive person but the suppressive person.

What I have derisively called the “lone Miscavige theory” which is predicated on what is called the “lone gunman theory“.

The irony is that those who propound this theory are backed up by the CIA and Mainstream Media who have been working hand and hand on discrediting anyone who doesn’t accept this conclusion as “Conspiracy Theorists” despite the overwhelming evidence of a conspiracy at the highest levels of the US Government to undermine and destroy Scientology.

Something confirmed by Scientology’s Guardian’s Office in their request obtained through the Freedom of Information Act of Top Secret actions taken against the Church.

Mysterious Deaths

Long before the unfortunate death of Lisa McPherson. There was the strange death of Pat Price followed by Ron’s son and likely heir apparent to Scientology Quentin Hubbard which was closely followed by Yvonne Jentzsch.

What Happens in Las Vegas Stays in Las Vegas

Pat Price was hired by CIA as an psychic intelligence asset while forwarding reports of his activities to the Guardian’s Office who would die in Las Vegas of a heart attack though this was never confirmed by an autopsy which for some reason was never done. Quentin would be found in his car barely clinging to life in the Mccarran Airport parking lot with a hose leading from the exhaust pipe to the window. An apparent “suicide” even no one could explain why samples of his hair were found and the trunk of his car or why he’d pick a busy airport parking lot to do himself in instead of some quiet side street or a garage which is the case of most suicides who chose asphyxiation by carbon monoxide from a car exhaust.

Yvonne Jentzsch

Probably next to Mary Sue Hubbard, Yvonne was one of the brightest shining stars of Scientology’s firmament. She along with Ingo Swann who would become known as the father of Remote Viewing and other Scientology Celebrities founded the Celebrity Centre on West 8th near the Wilshire District of Los Angeles.

Enigmatic Ingo along with Pat Price mentioned earlier and Hal Puthoff were all part of CIA’s effort to create a psychic spy. A project the Agency was involved in even prior to the National Security Act of 1947 which eventually become part of their Technical Services Mk/Ultra Project as Subproject-136.

Evidence suggests that Pat reported directly to Yvonne about the Remote Viewing project which at the time was considered above Top Secret.

Yvonne would to have seemed to expire by natural causes but there is some question of how she would contract the unusual cancer that would cause such a rapid deterioration in her health so suddenly. For example it is a well known trick among Intelligence Agencies to introduce Polonium or some other radioactive substance to create the same conditions of cancer.

Could it be that like Pat, Quentin and Yvonne were seen as threat to the US Government’s efforts to seize the Church of Scientology Hubbard mentioned in his policy Politics; Freedom From?

Of course this is purely speculation on my part but the fact is that these well known  Scientologists would all die within a short time of each other seems rather strange.

Mary Sue Hubbard

Mary Sue Hubbard would be the next domino to fall. The Controller of Scientology. The second highest position or post on Scientology’s Organization Chart or Board next to “Founder” L Ron Hubbard.

Her reward for helping to expose a vast Government conspiracy directed against the Church which led to her imprisonment was to be deposed and the Guardian’s Office abolished.

In its place the newly formed Office of Special Affairs directed its efforts away from Government activities against the Church and acted more like a Gestapo or a Stasi by being more concerned with internal security of the Organization and the activities of Scientologists who had left the Organization and became involved with various “squirrel groups” or had denounced the new management of the Church.

The Office of Special Affairs was Orwellian construct if there ever was one which unlike the office of the Guardian was unsupported by any policy establishing its duties.

Much like the Commodore’s Messengers Org which would eventually seize control of the Scientology Network and who’s orders  contrary to long standing tradition would become senior to well established organizational policies.

The Commodore’s Messengers Org

Unlike other Departments and Sections of the Organization there is no policy outlining the functions of the Commodore’s Messengers Org.

Commodore’s Messengers at one time were children of Sea Org Members who were assigned to Hubbard to run messages to and from various staff on the Flag Ship Apollo who eventually formed an organization.

Unlike missionares they were never assigned any ultimate ethics powers by any known policy or directive yet somehow  managed to arrogate these powers to themselves over time.

One man in particular who would join the Organization some time after the Flag Ship Apollo eventually landed in Clearwater Florida was David Miscavige.

Miscavige himself never served in the actual capacity of a Commodore’s Messenger on the Apollo. His claim to fame was that he worked with Hubbard at what was called “Over the Rainbow” at a location known as WHQ short for Winter Headquarters near the California desert city of La Quinta.

Over The Rainbow

The dregs and dross of the Sea Organization. Those who had been unceremoniously busted off post and in many cases assigned to the infamous Rehabilitation Project Force were the ones who were assigned to what was once called the “Photo Shoot Org”.

These intrepid souls would follow the Old Man around setting up and taking down sets or act as subjects in photos that Ron would take that would eventually used in Scientology promotional materials such as the ones that appear at the beginning of the original Volunteer Minsters Handbook.

In the late seventies Ron would expand this operation to include the Technical Training Films that he would write and direct himself which were shot at Over The Rainbow. The precursor to what would eventually become Golden Era Productions or Gold.

It is unfortunate that many of these original films were replaced by slicker productions later produced by Golden Era Studios. In my opinion these original films had the starkness of reality whereas the later ones are much like watching a slick over produced endless TV ad.

Myth-cavige

Miscavige  was bluntly nothing more than a camera man who like many other Scientologists worked under Hubbard’s direction at Over The Rainbow as did many other Scientologists at the time.

We look at we look Church of Scientology’s website and we find under his “biography” or more accurately hagiography that he was “L. RON HUBBARD’S TRUSTED FRIEND” probably because Hubbard once said in a Probate Document 15 May 1983 that he was a “trusted associate”. It seems the only reason why Miscavige was mentioned by name is there were “specific allegations of wrong doing” by him personally.

“Born in 1960, David Miscavige has been a Scientologist for most of his life and is still remembered as the 12-year-old prodigy who served as the youngest professional auditor at Saint Hill’s famed Hubbard Guidance Center in England.”

Yet according to an eye witness account Miscavige the wunderkind never completed his internship at Saint Hill. Thus there is no way that he would have audited there “professionally”.

“He is further remembered for the fact that barely a year after entering the Scientology religious order, the Sea Organization, at the age of 16, he was among a handful of people selected to work directly with L. Ron Hubbard.  After personal instruction from Mr. Hubbard, the 17-year-old David Miscavige served as his Director of Photography for the first Scientology training films.”

Another eye witness account says that Miscavige was never anything more than a Cameraman.

“Later, at Mr. Hubbard’s request, Mr. Miscavige served as the senior executive supervising ecclesiastical missions to Scientology Churches around the world.  By the age of 18, David Miscavige had become the individual L. Ron Hubbard called upon to carry out the most important assignments. No Church executive in history ever received more direct communication from L. Ron Hubbard than Mr. Miscavige.”

Again in the account cited previously Miscavige spent much of the tender age of eighteen assigned to the RPF and by the time he was assigned the post of Action Chief Ron had moved off the base in La Quinta to another location in Hemet California.

“In 1983, L. Ron Hubbard described a heroic Church executive who cleaned the ranks of rogue staff attempting to seize control of Scientology while Mr. Hubbard was engaged in intensive research and absent from the Church. As Mr. Hubbard himself phrased it: ”

‘So forgive me for not managing the Church when it almost fell into hostile hands.  It all came out all right.  Why? Because real Scientologists made sure it did.  My faith was justified.’

That real Scientologist L. Ron Hubbard spoke of was David Miscavige.”

The writer of this so called “biography” takes the plural “Scientologists” and converts it to singular then claims that Hubbard was speaking of Miscavige when it is obvious that he isn’t!

“In light of what had nearly transpired, L. Ron Hubbard requested a corporate reorganization of the Church designed to ensure the Church would not fall into hostile hands and the religion could move on into perpetuity—always remaining true to its Source teachings.  To that end, L. Ron Hubbard saw to the formation of Religious Technology Center to hold the Scientology and Dianetics trademarks and to preserve, maintain and protect the Scientology religion. He appointed Mr. Miscavige a Trustee of that Church organization.

To oversee his personal affairs for the remainder of his life, L. Ron Hubbard also appointed David Miscavige as chairman of the organization charged with handling those matters.”

According to an article published in Freedom Magazine in 2009 Miscavige wasn’t appointed to the Board of the Religious Technology Center until 1987. One year after L Ron Hubbard’s death. So if L Ron Hubbard personally appointed him then it must have been from his grave which seems unlikely since his body was cremated and scattered at sea.

“Following L. Ron Hubbard’s passing in 1986, it was Mr. Miscavige who steered Scientology through those difficult days; for as history demonstrates, the true test of any religion is to survive the passing of its Founder.  Indeed, it was Mr. Miscavige who secured that survival by obtaining full religious recognition in the United States and ushering Scientology onto the global stage.”

The fact is that Scientology has always been recognized as a Religion since its inception as the Church of Scientology of California under the First Amendment. What Miscavige along with others achieved with the no longer Secret Closing Agreement was to end the dispute with the IRS over the Organization’s IRC 501 C iii status which had been revoked since 1967.

In many cases this has become a curse more than a blessing as the Organization now mostly seeks pure donations instead of “donations” formerly known as fees for training and processing solely because they are Tax Deductible.

Thus most of the money is siphoned off into various schemes such as library projects, buildings, advertising campaigns etc and very little is actually spent on the public moving up the actual Grade Chart!

“Since then, Mr. Miscavige has steadfastly carried forth L. Ron Hubbard’s legacy, until Scientology now stands as the only major religion to emerge in this modern age.  To be sure, what Mr. Miscavige has done is no more or less than the fulfillment of L. Ron Hubbard’s vision—a vision he knew would be faithfully carried out with Mr. Miscavige at the helm.”

Since at least 1996 Miscavige has been assiduously altering the technology of Scientology with such things as the Golden Age of Tech  and the alteration of Scientology’s basic books.

Also the fact is that the Gross Divisional Statistics particularly those of Auditors and OTs being made has actually declined over the years.

This can be verified by picking any current Auditor (published by Saint Hills) and Advance Magazine (published by Scientology’s Advanced Organizations) and comparing them to earlier publications of the late 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and even early ’90’s before the Golden Age of Tech!

Yet Scientologists are carefully perception managed into believing that Scientology is going through its greatest “expansion” in history when in fact it is actually contracting!
